Reading Matthew's recent blog entry on technical obsolescence I came to think of my recent visit to the Stavanger swimming baths.

I hadn't been there for more than 15 years and was completely astounded to find that the hair dryers were the same as I always remember.

As you can see, these things are not pretty, but they're clearly made from industrial grade materials and therefore virtually indestructible. And, more importantly, repairable.
